We have been home for 3 weeks. I miss the time to beable to blog. (Plus my good computer has been in the shop for over 2 weeks, have to replace the motherboard. I'll post a few pictures as soon as I get it back. This computer drives me nuts.) That was my best journal keeping in my life and now it is really hard to find any time. I know I will forget many little moments that will be important for me to remember. It has been a whirlwind around here. So much to get caught up on being gone for a month. Some of the highlights:
-seeing family and getting caught up with their happenings
-shopping for clothes and items for Laina and Cort (and Lauren and Lexi, they needed new stuff too)
-getting Cort's drivers license renewed, which required alot of sitting and waiting, reminded us of Ukraine.
-trying to recover from jet lag, but feeling like I hit a brick wall by the mid afternoon.
-Our oldest son Trevor graduated from The Utah Fire and Rescue Academy and is now certified and trained and applying to be a fireman. We celebrated with him and Abbie and are very proud!
-Cort's 'Homecoming" and luncheon after. What a wonderful day, lots of family and friends! (a little exhausting.)
-Steve and Cort flew up to Seattle early on the 1st, to help Meagan and Nate drive their cars and 2 big dogs, Harley and Gunner, down,. They drove all day and night arriving at 4:12 a.m. on the 2nd. They are trying to land some jobs here. They are staying with Wini, their house is for sale in WA and then will have to return when it sales to move down all their belongings. It is great to have them back! 6 1/2 years they've been gone.
-The YW leaders in our ward threw a "Welcome Shower' for Laina. It was very welcoming - people were very generous and we are truly grateful. She received lots of clothes and other needed items.
-Doctor appointments (all of my kids have needed something) Laina had a baseline checkup here. She's small for her age. Tested postive for TB (not active!) waiting for a call from the Health Dept. for treatment.
-We've been treated to dinner at some friends home - delicious, nice night to visit and share adoption info. Another dinner at my sisters - nice to relax and enjoy company for a few hours.
-Then just keeping busy with all of other life events. I'm sure you all can relate.
