happenings of late

I said I would update next week on my last blog, that was March 20th, wow, time goes by fast. Except for my two daughter in laws, being pregnant, I think those days waiting for a little baby seem to be taking forever. Janelle is due in 4 days - wow, it is totally exciting to think I will probably become a grandma this week. So excited for little Eisley to enter this world and our family. Here is a picture of Abbie, Janelle and their cousin Kimmie who were all pregnant at the shower. Kim has since had her baby girl Hallee in April. I have 4 neices pregnant this year, all having or had girls, and Janelle having a girls, so when Maddix is born in July, he will be the only boy.
I promise I will post some pictures of the new baby as soon as she is born.

other happenings of late.

Lauren's dog Dallas has grown lots, she's still very skinny, but a cute little puppy that Lauren loves and cuddles. She had her surgery to be 'fixed' and it's been neat to watch her become to attached to this puppy and care for her, train her. She's a great "mom" to her.

Lexi had her Spring Dance Concert, her last as a member of Murray Dance Company. The week before, she decided to tryout for Cheerleader and guess what - she made it. She's very excited to do something new and different next year, her Senior year. (She's going to have to take back everything bad she said about Cheerleaders (-: ) One thing good about it is she has practices almost every day of summer at 6:00 a.m. so hopefully she won't want to be out to midnight every night, well she will want to, but won't beable to.

Lexi also had Junior Prom and Spartonian Ball. Next year I will have 2 girls in high school, looking forward to the drama around school dance time, homecoming, etc. It will be fun. (No, we didn't approve of the bare shoulders.)

Laina is running for Sophomore Rep. The voting was to take place on Friday and winners announced, but now it's tomorrow. Don't know why, but that's what she said. There are 6 running and she's the only girl. Two will get elected. I sure hope she wins, I think it will be a great thing for her to be involved in in high school. Give her opportunities that she's never had before, service, leadership, teamwork and increase her knowlege of life in America.
Meag continues to work at the furniture store and framing for Steve. She's has a nice guy friend that she spends lots of time with. She's getting interested in golf.
Trevor and Abbie continue to accomplish lots. Trev continues to show patience in the firefighting job pursuit. He tests, physical and written and interviews with about every department. He is at the top of all the lists, they just continue to postpone the hiring dates, with budget demands and hiring freezes. He will get offers soon. Abbie is loving being pregnant and so looking forward to being a mommy. They have done many improvements to their home and yard and now deciding how to paint the nursery. They've put together the crib and organizing all their baby things.

Cort and Janelle became first time homeowners and moved into in last week. They stayed with us for about 8 weeks while they along with Steve and I and Janelle's parents spent lots of time basically redoing the entire main floor. It was a big project, they did a fantastic job and will have hopefully a few more days to get settled before the baby is born. I will post some before and after pictures as soon as they do, so I can steal them off of their blog (or Janelle if you are reading this, email me some:-)

Steve continues to paint and have shows. He's a talented man! The economy hits a little hard on sales, but we are making it. Hopefully the couple of other things he's trying to get launched will happen soon. When they do - I'll let you know.

Oh, has anyone done a page on Facebook - I wonder about doing one for him, so people can become fans. Maybe some new traffic to his website. Would that be a good idea? Not sure how that all works.

One of the highlights we had was a big family celebration. Dad had his 80th birthday and mom Alice had her 70th. We had a wonderful openhouse last week for them. It has been many, many years (maybe 23)since all of the siblings of our family of yours, mine and ours, have been together at the same time. It was a very special day for them as they had all of their children there and the majority of grandkids and great-grandkids. We are so lucky to have Dad and Alice in our lives. (not a great picture, hope to get the pro one soon)
Just for fun, my nephew Payson, 6 years old portrait of his dad. Makes me smile. Glad they are all still here after a scary car accident last week.

Wow! Lot's going on! How fun to be a grandma, I hope you don't mind, but your hairdryer is still in Ukraine with Carrie Horlacher. Their luggage was lost and undeliverable for four days and I was heading home so I lent her your dryer and my curling iron. I figured you probably won't miss it or need it in the next four weeks?

No wonder you never post! There's so much to do! I would recommend doing a fanpage on facebook. It's a good way to at least get his name out there!
