Summer is flying by. Here are some highlights:
Laina promoted from 9th grade with a GPA of 3.54.
She worked very hard in school, is nervous about starting high school, she is excited to be a sophomore rep and was able to go on a 2 day leadership retreat with all the student government and the advisor. They are a great group of kids and she is excited to associate with them. (me too, we had a situation with a boy that didn't quite reach our standards :-). After many talks and some consequences, we hope that is in the past and lesson learned.)
On Memorial Day I bought myself a road bike. I had been saving, wanting one for a very long time and I found on on ksl.com (love that site). Then that week I got a few accessories, helmet, new road shoes, pedals and clips (also on ksl.com)and a registration for The Little Red Riding Hood Ride (since it was filled, I posted that I wanted to buy someone's registration on ksl.com and I got one). The ride was June 6th, and the longest I had ridden in the 10 days before on my bike was 18 miles. I was getting still getting used to what I was doing and how to clip in and out, etc. yet I reached my goal of riding the whole distance of 104 miles. It was awesome! Little sore the next day or two, but I loved it! There are many lessons learned about life while cycling 104 miles.
Then I rode the MS century ride while raising money for MS. I have friends with MS and many more friends that have family affected and died from MS. I decided to ride 75 miles on this ride, but I rode 88! I'm getting more confident and enjoying it so much. It's not to late to donate. For those that have - THANK YOU! and I will get a print to you. If you would still like to donate, Steve is giving one of his prints to each donor.

We had a most wonderful 4th of July! Love that holiday. Lexi and Laina were both in the Murray Parade, then we headed up to Midway to our annual Simonsen Celebration.
July 5th was a very special day. Little Eisley Mae was blessed. Cort did an awesome job giving her a name and blessing. She is a beautiful daughter of God. We had a delicious dinner with family at Carr's after. It was great to be all together
With her great grand parents and 4 generations.
The next day, July 6th, I was getting ready to go with the Stake YW leaders to set up for our camp that week. Trevor called me about 8:00 and said they were at the hospital. They were hungry and wanted food. They were monitoring Abbie and baby to see if they would admit her. She was still 2 weeks early. I went down after dropping Lexi off for Cheer Camp and at 9:00 they decided to admit her. I was going to be a grandma again. This time of a boy. I left and went to the Stake to drop off my stuff and inform them that I wasn't going up to help set up.
Steve and I went back to the hospital a little after noon. Her water had broken just before when they had checked her. Her mom and I were able to go in and be there as she went through Hypnobirthing. She did a great job, without any medication and delivered Maddix Trevor at 1:43 p.m. weighing 6 lbs. 13 oz., 20 inches long. What an awesome experience to have been able to be there for the birth of both of my grandchildren.

Still more to post...update the rest of the fam...
