well,

Well, this will be my second post in 3 months. Doing good. School starts tomorrow for my girls. Good and bad. Good because I always like a little more of a routine in my life. Good that I may beable to get to sleep earlier on the weekdays, teenagers love to be up or gone til late every night in the summer. This is Lexi's last year of public school, a senior. My baby of 15 years finishing high school, it's hard to believe. She's a cheerleader this year, at her second day of practice in August, she was dropped and rolled her ankle so hard that is caused an avulsion fracture, where the ligament tears and pulls off a piece of bone. She has been on crutches and in a boot for the last 3 weeks. It has limited her activity dramatically which doesn't make for a happy camper in a teenager. She hasn't even been able to 'work' since. The good news was last week we found out that she wouldn't require surgery which was very good news, 80% usually do the Dr. told us. She'll be on crutches for the first 3 days of school (at least she gets a coveted elevator key). Then on Wed. another Dr. appointment and they will ease her off the crutches, put her in a brace and hopefully she will beable to do some low impact cheering now that football season is going.
Laina begins her sophomore year at high school. She is a little nervous and anxious about it, but once she gets started, she will have a great time. She is a sophomore rep, so involved with Student Government. She has had a retreat, meetings and involved with planning Hello Week, making posters, helping with registration (a 9 hour day). Once she get started and feels comfortable in a situation, there is no stopping her. It will be interesting to have 2 girls in high school at the same time. It will be fun but I'm sure we will also have some hormonal days. :-)
Hopefully they will plan enough time for the 'first day of school' picture by the front door and I will add tomorrow. They were basically on their own for school clothes this year. With the cost of extra-curricular activities, doctors, major car repairs and the economy being a little slower for art sales.
The funnest part of the last few months is grandkids. I have loved every possible moment I get to spend holding those precious souls. I may be biased, but I think they are about the cutest things ever. Here's proof.

I want to add something that impressed me today. We went to our stake center this morning for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple dedication. It was such an incredible meeting and the counsel given was so important. When we were leaving the parking lot, David Archuleta came out of the building and walked in front of us holding his scriptures in his white shirt with his mom. It really impressed me to see this super famous teenager and the many think he has the whole world out there yet he still knows there is more to life than the world and has his priorities and focused on the eternal things.

Grandchildren are the best.
